Welcome to Year 3 Fox class!
My name is Miss Bartlett and I am the Year 3 teacher. With the help of Ms. Hazelwood and all the Foxes, this year is going to be amazing!
I am very much looking forward to this half term – we have some very exciting work to complete!
In Literacy the children are learning about non-chronological reports. The focus will be on vocabulary, factual language, creating and using glossaries and punctuation.
In Maths we are moving on to multiplication and division – focusing on the 3’s, 4’s and 8’s. This is where Times Table Rockstars practice will really come in useful in the children’s learning, so please ensure children are practicing at home regularly.
Our new topic is China. Foxes had a special visitor come in and show them some Chinese objects that they had brought over to England from China. The objects included: train tickets, flags, chopsticks, money, tea and books. The children learnt some basic Chinese and wrote their names using Chinese symbols. We are very excited about this topic! The children will be learning about the Shang Dynasty, traditional Chinese dragons and Chinese culture.
On Tuesdays in P.E. the children will be playing hockey with the Premier Sports Team. Please ensure children are coming to school with appropriate clothing for outdoor games. On Wednesdays the children will be learning dance with myself and Ms. Hazelwood, and this will be indoors.
A gentle reminder to please ensure all uniform – including P.E. kits – are clearly named to avoid confusion and loss of items.
I am very much looking forward to teaching your children this year! If you have any questions or concerns please email me on firstname.lastname@example.org to arrange a suitable time to meet.
